Parallels Desktop for Mac compatibility with Windows 11 - Known Issues

Information

Since Windows 11 Insider Preview has just been released recently, the Parallels Engineering team is studying changes introduced in the new operating system to deliver full compatibility in future Parallels Desktop updates.

Below is the list of known issues we are working on with available workarounds that we have tested in our lab.

Known issues 

Issue Workaround
 1  Can't upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11. Your PC doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11 error message.   Fixed in Parallels Desktop 17.0.1.

 Can't switch to the Beta channel in Windows 11.

 Fixed in Parallels Desktop 17.0.1

 3  Windows 11 cannot be installed on Mac. The PC must support the TPM 2.0 error message.

 Fixed in Parallels Desktop 17.     

 4  Windows 11 prompts the Your PC doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11 error message.  Fixed in Parallels Desktop 17.0.1.
 5  A green screen of death appears upon resuming a virtual machine  No workaround yet.
 6  Visual artifacts when moving a Windows application in Coherence mode  Fixed in Parallels Desktop 17.
 7  The sound speaker icon in the taskbar is shown as muted while it's not actually.  No workaround yet.
