OpenGL versions supported in Parallels Desktop

Starting with Parallels Desktop 27 for Mac, Windows 11 on Arm running on a Mac with Apple silicon uses the new OpenGL graphics driver with support for version 4.3. This means that Windows applications that publish OpenGL 4.3 as a stated minimum, like ArcGIS Pro or ZWCAD (v4.2 minimum) can now use hardware-accelerated OpenGL rendering.

For information about OpenGL support in Linux and macOS virtual machines, see KB 124138.

Note: The display driver for Windows 11 virtual machine is provided by Parallels Tools. Makes sure to update Parallels Tools as described in the KB 4841 after updating to Parallels Desktop 27.

Parallels Engineering team continues to work on advancing support for OpenGL graphics API in future product updates.
