Parallels Desktop subscription: The product license has expired

Symptoms

When I start Parallels Desktop for Mac activated with a subscription license, I get the error message:

The product license has expired.

To continue using Parallels Desktop, you need to purchase a license renewal. If you have already done so, click Check License.

Cause

The license expired.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to renew the license:

  1. Go to the Subscriptions and Licenses > Personal Subscriptions page in My Account:

    https://license.parallels.com/#/subscriptions/list/

  2. Click on the subscription you need to renew.

  3. Click on Renew online.

  4. Proceed with the purchase.

  5. Restart Parallels Desktop. If the error pops up again, click on Check License.
