Symptoms
When I search for a file or a folder in Windows File Explorer which contains space in its name (like Microsoft Office), pressing spacebar brings up Quick Look instead of just taking me to the correct path.
Resolution
To be able to search for items without Quick Look popping up, you can disable Quick Look in Windows.
-
To do this, open Windows search bar and type in regedit, then hit Enter to launch it.
-
In the appeared Registry Editor window go to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Parallels\Parallels Tools\GuestUtilities
-
Right-click the empty area on right side of GuestUtilities folder > New > String Value.
This action will create a new empty string under GuestUtilities folder.
-
Name the new string as NoQuickLook and hit Enter to save the name.
- Restart Windows to apply changes.
