Symptoms

A list of Parallels virtual machines in Parallels Desktop Control Center cannot be re-ordered manually.

Cause

Parallels Desktop misconfiguration.

Resolution

To change virtual machines order settings in Parallels Desktop Control Center, perform the steps below:

  1. Launch Parallels Desktop.
  2. While in Parallels Desktop Control Center from the top menu bar choose View option.

  3. Then go to Arrange By > and switch it to None.

  4. Now virtual machines list can be re-ordered according to your personal preferences.

NOTE: Bear in mind, if another option is used virtual machines list will be arranged accordingly and manual arrangement cannot be used.
