You may have heard about the latest update to Parallels Desktop and are wondering why you’re seeing a message saying You’re running the latest version of the product when you click 'Check for Updates' in Parallels Desktop activated with a Parallels Desktop Business or Enterprise Edition license.
Why are updates delayed for Parallels Desktop Business/Enterprise Edition?
We intentionally delay the rollout of updates to the users of Parallels Desktop Business and Enterprise Editions by one to two weeks after the initial public release. While our Quality Assurance team thoroughly tests every build prior to release, it’s important to acknowledge that testing resources are limited. Like with any other software, some issues or edge cases might only become apparent once the update is in use by a broader audience.
This waiting period allows us to ensure that any newly discovered issues can be addressed before making the update available to our Parallels Desktop Business and Enterprise Editions users, who often rely on stable and secure environments for critical business operations.
Note: major upgrades (e.g. from Parallels Desktop 19 to Parallels Desktop 20) can be disabled by the IT administrator of your company. Please reach out to the IT department of your company for more details.
