USB device doesn't automatically reconnect on resuming a virtual machine

I've connected a device to the virtual machine, but after pausing/suspending and then resuming the virtual machine, the device appears to be disconnected from the virtual machine.

How do I make a USB device be always connected when the virtual machine is running?

Information

When the virtual machine is suspended or paused, all USB devices are disconnected from it. To make a device automatically reconnect to the virtual machine once it's running, it is required to create a permanent assignment for the device:

  1. Click Parallels Desktop icon || > Preferences > Devices.


     
  2. Click on the device and select the virtual machine that you want it to automatically connect to.
