Virtual machine window stays in Full Screen after shutdown

Symptoms

After I upgraded to Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac my virtual machine window now stays in Full Screen mode after I shut it down.

Resolution

You may change the way how virtual machine window would behave after shutting down the virtual machine:

  1. Open virtual machine configuration.
  2. Switch to Options tab > select Startup and Shutdown -> select Custom.
  3. From On VM Shutdown drop down menu choose the most convenient scenario for you.
