What's Changing?
The key change is that Golden Image and Policy settings are now combined. Previously, you would assign a Golden Image and a policy to a sublicense separately. Now, a single policy assigned to a sublicense specifies both the Golden Image and security rules.
What to Expect with Your Existing Settings
To ensure a smooth transition, we will automatically migrate your existing configurations to the new system. You do not need to take any manual action, but here is what you can expect to see after the update:
If a sublicense had a Golden Image assigned:
-
Scenario A: The sublicense had a Golden Image but no policy.
-
A new policy will be automatically created for you. It will be named Golden Image policy # and its description will be automatically created based on previous GI assignments
.
This new policy will be assigned to the sublicense and will have the correct Golden Image selected.
-
-
Scenario B: The sublicense had both a Golden Image and an existing policy.
-
Your existing policy will be automatically updated to include the Golden Image assignment. No new policy will be created.
-
If a sublicense had multiple policies assigned:
-
To simplify management, your multiple policies will be merged into one. A new policy named Combined policy # will be created, containing all the settings from your previous policies.
If a sublicense had a policy but no Golden Image:
-
No changes will occur. Your existing policy will remain as is.
We recommend reviewing your policies after the update to familiarize yourself with the new, streamlined layout.
