Symptoms

Enabling (unticking the checkbox) an MS RD Connection Broker is not effective after disabling (ticking the checkbox) "Disable Microsoft RD Connection Broker" in RAS Console.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps to change the value of SessionDirectoryActive in the Windows Registry:

Registry Key Locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services

Steps to modify the Windows Registry:

  1. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
  2. Navigate to the specified key locations.
  3. Locate the SessionDirectoryActive value.
  4. Change the value from 0 to 1.
  5. This change should resolve the issue with server collections.
