Files uploaded in Awingu have a .partial extension

Symptoms

After an end user uploads a file on a drive published in Awingu, the file appears with a .partial file extension.

Cause

Awingu uploads a file in chunks. To make this clear, by design the .partial file extension is added (similar to what can be observed when larger files are downloaded in web browsers). It is not possible to disable this.

However, NTFS does not permit the user to rename the file.

Some scenarios where this happens:

• User is missing "delete" NTFS permissions for the file (likely inherited from the folder).
• On the file server, there is a file screen blocking certain file extensions.

Resolution

• Add the NTFS permission on the file server.
• Adjust the file screen on the file server.
