Virtual Machine Shows Low Screen Refresh Rate (when run on 144/120 Hz display)

5 users found this article helpful

When running a virtual machine on a high refresh rate screen (120/144 Hz), the virtual machine still shows refresh rate to be 60 Hz.

In reality, the screen refresh rate in the virtual machine is always exactly that of macOS.

But due to certain software limitations, the number shown in the display adapter properties is always 60 Hz and is not an accurate representation of the real refresh rate.

Do not refer to the screen refresh rate shown in the virtual machine's display adapter, as this number always shows 60 Hz.
