Symptoms
I am unable to update my Windows OS because of the error 800b0001.
Cause
If you receive Windows Update error 800b0001, it means that Windows Update or Microsoft Update cannot determine the cryptographic service provider, or a file Windows Update requires (named catalog store) is corrupted.
Resolution
The System Update Readiness Tool can correct some conditions that cause this error.
In case it does not help, please contact Microsoft Support for the further assistance, as the root cause of this issue is in Windows system itself.
