How to share a printer between a Windows virtual machine and Mac OS X

I want to use the same printer with both Mac OS X and Windows.


With Parallels Desktop for Mac, the default Mac OS X printer is automatically used by Windows. You don't need to configure anything.

If you make changes to printing options in Mac OS X, the same changes will be applied to Windows after the next time you restart Windows.

Important: Parallels Tools should be installed in your virtual machine to provide this feature.

Make sure you have Add all Mac printers (Share Mac printers) option enabled in virtual machine Configuration -> Hardware -> Print (Shared Printers):

In Windows virtual machine under Devices -> Printers you will find the same printer enabled:
