NetBoot image not being broadcast to Mac Device Collection

Symptoms

I have created a NBI file and converted it to a WIM file and created a task sequence and deployed the task sequence to a collection of Macs. The challenge is that the NetBoot image option is not appearing as a boot option on the target Macs.

The following errors persists in pma_netboot_service.log:

      01-29 11:16:51.372 I /pma_netboot_service:1952:f88/ Unable to fetch data (Unable to read DP NAL path. Check that account has enough rights.).

Cause

Current user does not have access to SMS Provider.

Resolution

Grant the user read-only access to SMS Provider:

In SCCM 2012:

• Right-click on Administrative Users in Administration > Overview > Security and then click Add User or Group.

• Browse the user in the User or group name field.

• Click Add... in the Assigned security roles field.

• Select a role in the Available security roles (Read-only Analyst) list and click OK.
• Click OK in the Add User or Group dialog.
