Isolate a virtual machine from Mac

137 users found this article helpful

When a virtual machine is isolated from macOS, folders, profiles, applications, and external drives are not shared between two operating systems. In general, it becomes impossible to copy a file from one operating system to another. Isolating a virtual machine provides the highest level of security by not allowing possibly compromised items from one operating system to come into contact with the other.

To isolate a virtual machine, perform the following steps:

1. Open the virtual machine's configuration.

2. Open the Security tab.

3. Click Isolate Mac from Windows option:

4. Once the prompt asking you to confirm the isolation appears, click Isolate.
