For Windows Vista or Windows 7 virtual machine, please do the following:

  1. Take a Snapshot by clicking on Virtual Machine menu > Take a Snapshot...
  2. Go to Start menu and type 'regedit' in the search bar and hit Return to open Registry Editor;
  3. Locate the value stated below (there should be three keys with the same ID):

    HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}

    This is the correct path where VBScript.dll should present.

  4. Expand {B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8} key, locate InprocServer32 and click on it. In the right column you should see two values exactly as at the screen shot below:

    alttext

    However if you see any additional string as on another screen shot (below), you need to do the following:

    alttext

    • Right-click InprocServer32 > Permissions > Advanced > Permissions > highlight Administrators, choose Edit > and in the Permissions check box next to Full Control;
    • Save all changes;
    • Then in the right column or Registry Editor right-click (Default) > Modify, and insert the correct path in Value Data:

      C:/Windows/system32/vbscript.dll

    • Click OK to save changes;
    • Right-click OriginalDLL item and choose Delete.
  5. If you have 64-bit Windows repeat steps 3 – 5 for next registry keys:

    HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}

    HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8

  6. After that close Registry Editor.

  7. Perform steps 1-3 from Resolution part of this article and try to install Parallels Tools again again.

Note: If all located registry values were right and you did not have to modify anything, and you are still unable to install Parallels Tools please contact Parallels Support for assistance

Now you may remove the Snapshot you have created at the very beginning of Advanced troubleshooting part.

If you receive ”Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component.” when installing Parallels Tools, please check Error 1935 during Parallels Tools installation.
