Unable to use a virtual machine with another Mac user account

My virtual machine can't be used with several Mac users. After you log into User 2 and launch virtual machine on the User 1 account virtual machine looks like:

Virtual machine misconfiguration.


  1. Log into your main user account.

  2. Be sure that Parallels Desktop for Mac application is turned off.

  3. Open the from Applications > Utilities.

  4. In the Terminal window type command listed below:

    sudo rm -rf  /Library/Preferences/Parallels/
  5. Press the Return/Enter key, enter your the user account password, and press the Return/Enter key again to execute the command.

    NOTE: You would not be able to see that you have typed the password.

  6. Run the command below in Terminal:

    rm -rf  ~/Library/Preferences/Parallels/
  7. Press the Return/Enter key to execute the command.

  8. Now type this command:

    rm -rf  ~/Library/Parallels/
  9. Press the Return/Enter key to execute the command.

  10. Perform steps 5 - 9 for each user account you intent to use the virtual machine.

  11. Login under another user account and add the virtual machine to Parallels Desktop Control Center (double click on the .pvm bundle).
