Resolution

Try to use USB Headphones. Pass them in directly in virtual machine using Parallels Desktop menu bar:

Devices > External Devices > check Headphones name

Also, you ma try to perform this workaround:

  1. Start virtual machine.

NOTE: Please take a snapshot of your virtual machine (in Parallels Desktop menu bar go to Actions > Take snapshot) before you proceed with the instruction below to be able to revert all the changes.

  1. Press "cmd"+"R" key combination, type 'regedit' (without quotes) and Return/Enter to run Registry Editor.

  2. Locate and highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} key and look for UpperFilters value in the right box.

  3. Highlight UpperFilters value and delete it:

  4. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} key and check every subkey for 'KS' value. If you find it, delete it.

  5. Re-install Parallels Tools (in Parallels Desktop menu bar: Actions > Reinstall Parallels Tools) and reboot your virtual machine.

  6. After that please do the following:

    • Start menu > in the search box type "Control Panel" > in View by choose "Small icons" > Sound
    • Browse to "Communications" tab
    • Select "Do Nothing"
    • Press "OK"

    • In the Recording tab -> Right-click Microphone -> Properties -> switch to Volume tab and set it to 100%

    • In the application you use also set microphone volume to the maximum.
