Unable to create MDM Link: Unknown rpc error: code=3, category='MDM IPC Error'

Symptoms

Below error is observed during MDM Link configuration:

Cause

MDM Link certificate was not imported from Proxy server to MDM server.

Following line in pmm_dep_service.log:

    11-28 12:31:43.756 W /MdmCore:10324:2bc8/ Peer certificate is not trusted. Certificate Parallels DEP Service ('35fe3ad40fc347929280f8974644aebecc25a97c')

Resolution

On the PMM Proxy server open local certificates, locate Parallels MDM Link certificate > Properties > Thumbprint:

Make sure that the same certificate, with the same Thumbprint is available on the MDM server.
