If your Mac has several displays, you may have problems with switching your Windows Server 2003 virtual machine to Coherence, Full Screen or Crystal. For example, you may get the following message when switching to Coherence:
"Unable to switch to Coherence. The virtual machine display configuration could not be applied. Please try again or contact the Parallels Support team for assistance."
This may be related to the amount of video memory assigned to your virtual machine.
To be able to switch to Coherence, Full Screen, and Crystal, you need to edit the video memory settings in the virtual machine configuration. To do so, shut down the virtual machine and follow these steps:
Open the configuration of your virtual machine by choosing Virtual Machine > Configure from the menu.
Click the Hardware tab and select Video.
- Set the video memory to 64 MB, and click OK to save your settings.
Once the video memory is set to 64 MB, Windows Server 2003 can be switched to Coherence, Full Screen, or Crystal.
