Symptoms

Nutanix Guest Tools can't be installed to HALB appliance, the following errors are displayed:
Unsupported distribution : debian
ERROR: Failed to install Nutanix Guest Tools. Check /tmp/ngt_install_log_20191008182512.txt  for logs.

Cause

HALB appliances are based on Debian Linux distribution which isn't supported by Nutanix Guest Tools.
