NOTE: Prior to moving a server please backup the following folder if you are using 3rd party certificates: C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\ApplicationServer\Gateways

This article explains how to migrate an existing Parallels RAS installation to a new Server keeping the same hostname, subnet and Domain.

For situations when keeping the same hostname is not required, it is better to use scenario described in the following article:

  1. Make sure that both the old and the new servers are running exactly the same build of Parallels RAS (Help → About);
    If builds are different, please update the older server.

  2. In RAS ConsoleAdministration Tab > Settings> export your current settings.

  3. If your new server will be located in the same Domain or on the same Subnet, perform the following sequence to avoid misconfiguration issues:
    - remove the old server from the Domain
    - change it's Hostname
    - change it's IP Address to a different one.

  4. Delete the old RAS from the server.

  5. Deactivate Parallels RAS

  6. Configure your new Server to use the same IP Address and Hostname as for previous Server.

  7. Add the new server to your Domain.

  8. Download Parallels RAS and install it on a new Server:

  9. Import settings In RAS Console > Administration Tab > Backup

  10. Activate Parallels RAS.

NOTE: If you are using 3rd party certificates, close RAS Console and place previously backed up contents into C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\ApplicationServer\Gateways folder. Open RAS Console > Farm > Gateways > open Gateway Properties > switch to SSL/TLS tab > browse for Private Key and Certificate for each Gateway > click OK > Apply settings to the Console once all Gateways were configured.
