Introduction

If your company or organization has a subscription for an older version of Remote Application Server, or a permanent license with a valid Upgrade Insurance plan, you can use your license with Remote Application Server version 15 or later. Legacy Remote Application Server license key(s) that you used with versions 11-14 of the Remote Application Server must be converted to license keys of a new format before they can be used for activating Remote Application Server version 15 or higher.

Do I need to convert my license key?

Legacy license keys for Remote Application Server can't be used for activation of Parallels Remote Application Server 15. Legacy keys have the following format:

NNNN-NNNN-NNNN-NNNN, where N is a letter A-Z or a digit 0-9

(e.g. RHOE-QVUE-JXIL-DU3M)

If you have a license key of this format, you need to convert it to a license key of a new format first.

The new format of Remote Application Server license key is:

NNNNNN-NNNNNN-NNNNNN-NNNNNN-NNNNNN, where N is a letter A-Z or a digit 0-9

(e.g. Y77PCJ-XP27ZX-S76R4F-50E518-WRNAKB)

What happens when I convert my legacy license key?

When you convert your legacy Remote Application Server license key, Parallels Licensing Server checks the validity of your old key and converts it to a new format. At the same time it registers a new subscription or a permanent license that corresponds to your older license that was used with Remote Application Server version 11-14. After conversion is completed, your old Remote Application Server license key is disabled and cannot be used with old versions of the product anymore.

Keep in mind, that you cannot use a Remote Application Server license key of a new format with legacy versions of application (v. 11-14).
