There is no psf directory under the "My network Places" in the Windows XP virtual machine.

Such behaviour is considered to be a software issue.

Workaround #1

  1. Download and unzip the DesktopUtilities

  2. In Windows, go to Program Files\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins, move existing DesktopUtilities.dll to another location (say Desktop) and put downloaded DesktopUtilities.dll there.

Workaround #2

Use the "Parallels Shared Folders" shortcut that is being created and placed by default on your Windows desktop. If you do not have such shortcut you may create it using the following:

  • right-click on Desktop area -> New -> Shortcut
  • type the location of the item: \\psf
