TrackPad, Wacom Tablet does not work in virtual machine.

  • Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac Home Edition
  • Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac Standard Edition

  • Apple TrackPad, Wacom tablet or any other featured pointing device that connected to Mac has not been recognized in VM.
  • When trying to pass modifier keys with simple keys as one keystroke from device to guest OS, only the simple key gets passed.
  • Special gestures does not work in VM, but works well on Mac.

Limitation of virtualization.

Inside virtual machine we have a different (virtual) hardware than exists in host system.

Inside guest OS we have only simple* PS/2 or USB mouse regardless host's featured pointing device (Wacom Tablet, etc.)

  • Parallels Dekstop 10 supports 3+ button mouse:

If you have custom mouse buttons set on a 3+ button mouse, those buttons will work in Windows applications and games.

Pass your device directly inside the virtual machine:

At the Mac menu tool bar, go to Devices > External Devices > check your device name.

NOTE: This action will disable tablet at host. To revert, uncheck your device in the External Devices list.
