Cannot install Windows OS: windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570


  • The issue with error code 0x80070570 is caused by either Bad Media (bad burn, scratches on the DVD, etc) or potentially DVD read issues during install.

  • The installation image is corrupted: some files are corrupted or missing.

If you have already created .iso image file and it still does not work, re-download image file from Microsoft website or use the other installation image of Windows OS.

If the issue still persists install Windows in BootCamp partition from the same .iso file and check correctness and integrity of the image file.

To check integrity of the image file please follow next steps:

  1. Download the image file once again and place it to your Mac OS X Desktop.
  2. Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
  3. Type in Terminal (press Enter after each command):

    cd Desktop
    md5 [drag and drop here existing image file] 

Note: The file name in the command should be the same as the real .dmg or .iso name that you have downloaded. The above command is just an example.

  1. Terminal will display your md5 sum of the file (Checksum).
  2. Check this md5 sum with md5 sum on the official website where the installation file was downloaded
