Symptoms
- I am trying to calibrate display in my Windows virtual machine (Control panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Calibrate the color), but when I am moving the slider nothing happens.
Cause
Due to the fact that Parallels Display Adapter (which is used in Windows virtual machines) uses host OS X graphics, such customization settings (calibrating color and gamma) are not available by design. For changing gamma or color in Windows virtual machine, Parallels Desktop would need to change them on host OS X, but this is not possible, you may only change it manually using Display Calibrator Assistant.
Resolution
For calibrating color on Mac OS X please do the following:
Go to System Preferences > Display > Color
Click 'Calibrate'
Display Calibrator Assistant will be started, follow on-screen instructions
