Parallels Tools issues after installing Updates for Linux Virtual machine

After installing Updates for Linux some of the essential components of Linux, such as kernel and xorg may be changed that leads to their incompatibility with Parallels Tools installed in the Virtual machine.


Reinstall Parallels Tools.
Go to Virtual machine menu  ►  Reinstall Parallels Tools

then click Yes to start Parallels Tools reinstallation

Parallels Tools image will be mounted to the Virtual machine as a CD disk
Now launch Terminal and enter the following commands:

$cd /media/Parallels\ Tools
$sudo su

then enter password. Note: you will not see the password on typing it.


Parallels Tools Installer wizard will open and guide you through the steps to reinstall Parallels Tools

Once Parallels Tools are updated you need to reboot your Virtual machine.
