Symptoms

Parallels Desktop hangs during copy pasting from Windows to Mac while Visual Studio is paused in Windows virtual machine.

Cause

Due to the paused state of Visual Studio, Parallels Desktop copy-paste service is not able to execute the operation and hangs after the request timeout.

Workaround

In order to workaround this issue, you may either:

1. Disable Windows and Mac file sharing in Virtual Machine configuration. Go to Virtual Machine menu > Configure > Options > Sharing and disable all options.

2. Manually remove or rename CopyPasteTool.dll file in C:\Program Files\Parallels Tools\Plugin folder. 



NOTE: Copy paste option would not work in both cases, but Parallels Desktop will quit hanging.
