Mouse and keyboard drivers in Windows Virtual Machine

Sometimes mouse and keyboard in Virtual Machine may be not fully functional or operate not in a proper way.


  • Parallels Tools are not installed.

  • Virtual Machine has been migrated and some third-party drivers still remain in Device Manager.

  • You have manually installed some third-party drivers for mouse or keyboard into your Virtual Machine.


  1. Make sure Parallels Tools are installed. (Re)Install Parallels Tools if necessary. Reboot your virtual machine.

  2. In Windows go to the Start menu and type in the Search bar or Run menu:


In Device Manager windows please expand Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices trees:

Please make sure you have the same list of devices installed as above.

If you have any additional driver please right click on it and choose Uninstall.
