Shift key does not always work in the password confirmation dialog in Parallels Mobile

  • Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac Standard Edition

I am using Parallels Mobile for connecting to my Mac (Host OS). Sometimes when I am asked to input my Mac OS password, it does not accept it.

The issue may occur if your password contains symbols which require usage of "Shift" key. For example: [!], [@], [#], ...
Mac OS fails to detect "Shift" key usage through Parallels Mobile sometimes, hence the issue happens.

Our development team is working on fixing it as soon as possible.

Any of these workarounds should work:

1. Try to input the password once again;

2. Change your password so that it would not contain symbols, which require pressing the "Shift" key.

3. Input the password on your Mac directly, quit Parallels Desktop. (You do not need to launch Parallels Desktop again in order to connect to your Mac or VMs via Parallels Mobile, because necessary services will still be running in the background).
