ISSUEI had Parallels Desktop running on my Mac OS X Snow Leopard and was able to run my Windows virtual machine based on a Boot Camp partition without any problem. Then I upgraded to the new Mac OS X to Lion.
Since that time the virtual machine starts with the following error message:
The Boot Camp partition "/dev/disk0s3" used by Hard Disk 1 is not supported. Please open the virtual machine configuration and select a supported Boot Camp partition in the Hard Disk 1 settings.
CAUSEThe Boot Camp hard disk number on Mac OS X Lion differs from the one you had in Snow Leopard.
RESOLUTIONPlease re-register your Boot Camp partition in the virtual machine configuration:
- Open Virtual Machine Configuration by clicking on 'Virtual Machine' menu, choose 'Configure', go to 'Hardware' and select 'Hard Disk 1'.
- Remove Hard Disk 1 by pressing the "-" sign and save the changes.
- Then add the Hard Disk by pressing the "+" sign and choose your Boot Camp partition hard disk.
- Save the changes, close the configuration window and try to start your virtual machine.
