To run Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac on Mac OS X Lion, please install the latest software update.

Here is a list of known issues of Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac running on Mac OS X Lion:
  • Virtual Machine is not visible after upgrading to Lion. Workaround is available at
  • Virtual Machines based on Boot Camp partition fail to start with an error message. Solution is available at
  • Virtual hard drive resizing does not work
  • When you start Parallels Desktop, some of your virtual machines may start automatically
  • Show menu bar and Show Dock options work incorrectly in Active Corners (in Parallels Desktop Full Screen Mode)
  • Mac OS X Lion may freeze for a short  time when Parallels Desktop adds its Applications folder to the Dock
  • Screen artifacts in Ubuntu 11.04 virtual machines
  • Old Macs running in 32-bit mode (manufactured in early 2006) may experience kernel panic during the upgrade to Lion if Parallels Desktop is installed
  • Old builds of Kaspersky Antivirus for Mac shipped with Parallels Desktop 6  may cause system misbehavior or kernel panic if installed directly on Mac OS X Lion
