Parallels Desktop 27 for Mac 27.0.0 (58628)

The new major Parallels Desktop version 27.0.0 (build 58628) includes many under-the-hood upgrades aimed at better supporting the latest version of macOS. It is designed as Apple silicon-native app, while support for Intel Macs will continue with periodic security and compatibility updates to version 26.

The release delivers the following improvements:

All editions of Parallels Desktop 27 for Mac

• New: Windows and Linux virtual machines can now use Apple’s SME CPU feature on M4 and M5 chips, which can accelerate matrix-heavy workloads like local AI inference.
• Security: This update addresses multiple security vulnerabilities in the virtual networking stack, virtual GPU command processing, and VirtIO subsystem, including memory corruption issues, out-of-bounds reads, and privilege escalation vectors.

Windows on Mac

• New: Windows virtual machines now run on a reengineered OpenGL driver powered by Apple’s Metal API, raising support from OpenGL 4.1 to 4.3 — up to 2.6x faster in our benchmarks on Macs with an M3 chip or newer.
• Fixed: TradeStation app would crash on launch with a "Graphics Error" message.
• Fixed: Launching PDF-XChange in a Windows 11 virtual machine running in Coherence mode would produce black box artifacts in the application window.
• Fixed: Altium Designer would crash when opening a project file inside a Windows virtual machine.

Linux on Mac

• New: Out-of-the-box support for new Linux distributions: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (x86_64 emulation), Fedora 44, Debian 13.6, and Kali Linux 2026.2.
• New: Parallels Tools in headless Ubuntu Arm virtual machines can now be updated using the command line, without requiring a graphical session.
• New: Shared folders daemon (prl_fsd) has been updated from libfuse2 to libfuse3, improving stability and compatibility with modern Linux distributions.

Parallels Desktop 27 for Mac Enterprise Edition

• New: Parallels Desktop for Mac 27 is now certified as "ARM SystemReady SR 3.1 (VE band)", enhancing compliance, improving compatibility with new OS releases, and reducing the risk of unexpected issues.
• Fixed: An issue prevented a provisioning package from being applied during Declarative Deployment on virtual machines running Windows 24H2.

What was deprecated or removed from Parallels Desktop 27

According to the statistics from the users who participate in the Parallels Customer Experience program, some product features are used very seldom or not at all. We have decided to either stop supporting them or completely remove them from Parallels Desktop and focus on frequently used features and further enhancements.

Below is the list of features that are no longer supported and have been removed in Parallels Desktop for Mac 27:

• Installing Parallels Desktop 27 on Macs running macOS Ventura 13.
• Support for Intel Macs.
• Support for Boot Camp.
• Travel mode.
• Unread email badge and new mail notifications for Classic Outlook.
• Security tab in Parallels Desktop preferences. These respective settings are now controlled remotely by Enterprise Edition administrators. 

Note: For private users, we recommend protecting your Mac user accounts and virtual machines using standard authentication methods.

• Shared Bluetooth functionality. Bluetooth devices (e.g., keyboards, mice, or game controllers) connected to your Mac will continue to work normally in virtual machines. 

Note: To connect a Bluetooth device directly to a virtual machine, consider using a USB Bluetooth dongle.
