Can not add resource(s) to composite resource.

Symptoms

I created new composite resource, lets say #10001 "Mailbox with 1GB diskspace".

I want to add the resource "Diskspace" to the created composite resource #10001 "Mailbox with 1GB diskspace".

I go to PBA-E control panel > Top > Product Director > Resource Manager > Resources > #10001 "Mailbox with 1GB diskspace" > switch to the tab 'Included Resources' > click the button 'Add New Included Resource' and I do not see resource 'Diskspace' in list of available ones.

Cause

Please check if the resource 'Diskspace' is measurable or not.

Since PBA-E 4.4 a composite resource can not be measurable as well as all the resources included in a composite resource. Composite resources usage is possible only within allowed pre-paid limits and never can be billed by actual consumption.

So, if the resource 'Diskspace' is measurable it can not be added to any composite resource.

Resolution

In order to be able to add resource in a composite resource you need to make it non-measurable. Please note that in case of non-measurable resources, overuse charges are never applied, even if statistics is collected by PBA-E from external system, such as POA.

To make resource non-measurable open PBA-E control panel > Top > Product Director > Resource Manager > Resources > select resource you need > click 'Edit' > uncheck the option 'Measurable' > click 'Save'.
