					<h2>Symptoms</h2>
					<font><font size="2"> The symptoms may vary. It may be a failure when you install/update Parallels Desktop or problems during operation, such as the inability to create a VM, etc.<br /><br /><br /></font></font>

					<h2>Cause</h2>
					<font><font size="2">Incorrectly </font></font><font><font size="2">updated software or Mac OS failure can lead to inability to install Parallels Desktop or load system files properly. Using Mac OS for long periods without rebooting may lead to some minor failures that may appear in the system in its entirety.</font></font>
				</div>

					<h2>Resolution</h2>
					<font><font size="2"> To resolve these problems, please follow the steps below:<br /> <br /> 1. Reboot your Mac.<br /> <br /> 2. Launch Applications -&gt; Utilities -&gt; Disk Utility.<br /> <br /> 3. Select Macintosh HD on the left panel and click Repair Disk permissions.<br /> <br /> 4. Launch the Parallels Desktop </font></font><font><font size="2">Uninstall</font></font><font><font size="2"> (for this purpose you can use Parallels Desktop Installation CD or .dmg package downloaded from Parallels web site) and follow the instructions on the screen. Please note that the uninstall program does not remove Parallels virtual machines from your Macintosh HD. It is important to use the uninstaller for the </font></font><font><font size="2">currently installed </font></font><font><font size="2">version of Parallels Desktop, or the most recent one.<br /> <br /> 5. Launch Applications -&gt; </font></font><font><font size="2">Utilities </font></font><font><font size="2">-&gt; Terminal and copy/paste the following commands:<br /> <br /> NOTE! Please make sure you enter commands in complete form, because in case of improper usage, Mac OS might be corrupted.<br /> <br /></font></font><em><font><font size="2">cd </font></font><font><font size="2">/Library/StartupItems/</font></font><br /><font><font size="2"> sudo rm -rf Parallels<br />cd </font></font><font><font size="2">/Applications</font></font><br /><font><font size="2"> sudo rm -rf Parallels<br />cd </font></font><font><font size="2">/System/Library/Extensions/</font></font><font><font size="2"><br /> sudo rm -rf vmmain.kext<br /> sudo rm -rf hypervisor.kext<br /> sudo rm -rf Pvsvnic.kext<br /> sudo rm -rf ConnectUSB.kext<br /> sudo rm -rf Pvsnet.kext</font></font></em><font><font size="2"><br /> <br />It is normal, if commands will result in &quot;No such file or dir&quot; output - it means that the uninstaller has already removed the files listed.<br /> <br /> 6. Repeat steps 2 and 3.<br /> <br /> 7. Restart your Mac computer.<br /> <br /> 8. Eject </font></font><font><font size="2">Parallels Desktop</font></font><font><font size="2"> installation CD if you ran the uninstall process from the CD.<br /> <br /> 9. Install Parallels Desktop for Mac.</font></font><br />
