I get the "Domain ID is undefined." or "Unable initialize session" error in Plesk CP.

Article ID: 997
Last Review: Apr,22 2008
APPLIES TO:
  • Plesk for Linux/Unix

SYMPTOMS

You receive the errors like below in Plesk Control Panel:

"Domain ID is undefined."
"Client ID is undefined."

Or see the "Unable initialize session" error instead of Plesk login page.

CAUSE

Such errors usually occur if Plesk cannot create session in $PRODUCT_ROOT_D/admin/sessions.

RESOLUTION

Please, check that there is enough free disk space with the commands:

# df -h
# df -i

If disk space or inodes usage is 100%, you can remove useless files such as different distributions, rotate log files in /var/log/, setup log rotation for domains in Plesk, etc...

Also, make sure that "$PRODUCT_ROOT_D/admin/sessions" has right permissions, for example:

# ls -ld /usr/local/psa/admin/sessions
drwxrwx--- 2 root psaadm 4096 Dec 12 15:09 /usr/local/psa/admin/sessions
Keywords: domain client id is undefined
