Parallels Virtuozzo for Windows (PVCfW) supports a wide range of antivirus software products.  In order to ensure flawless interaction with PVCfW, Parallels regularly performs compatibility tests, working closely with Ant-ivirus vendors and issuing PVCfW software updates when necessary.

Please use this article as a reference point in determining the anti-virus solution for your PVCfW systems. Prior to using information from this article, please make sure your PVCfW servers are running on the latest patchlevel available.

Note! All anti-virus solutions described below must be installed on the node only. Anti-virus installed on the node protects all containers (CTs) automatically. Anti-virus installation inside containers is not supported!

Antivirus software compatibility with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6:

Symantec Endpoint Protection

 Supported versions:

• 11.0.6 (update 6)

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise

 Supported versions:

• 8.7i (patch 3)
• 8.8 (patch 5) - for Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 only

Warning: If you plan to use the McAffee anti-virus software, first install Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.6 on the server. Then, proceed with installing the anti-virus.

AVG

 Supported versions:

• AVG 9.0
         Warning: AVG 9.0 auto-protect scanner blocks viruses from loading, but cannot delete them. To delete viruses, run virus scan in the %vz% folder.


• AVG Anti-Virus 2012

Sophos Anti-Virus

 Supported versions:

• 9.5.1 (Windows server 2008 R2 only)

Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Potection

 Supported versions:

• 2010 till build 1.09.37.0
