SymptomsParallels Tools installation starts, but does not complete, and there is no sound in Windows.
CauseWindows blocks audio driver installation.
Resolution1. Right-click on Computer (My Computer) in Windows and choose Manage.
2. Go to Device Manager and choose Audio Controller.
3. Click on Action --> Uninstall.
4. When the controller is uninstalled, click on Action --> Scan for Hardware Changes.
5. Restart Windows and reinstall Parallels Tools. The sound should work after that.
NOTE: If Windows cannot find the proper driver in item 4, you may need to insert your Windows installation CD and search for the driver there.
