Parallels Internet Security and Kaspersky Internet Security

INFORMATION

Parallels Internet Security (PIS) 2009 is Kaspersky Anti-virus for protecting Windows in Parallels Desktop virtual machines. It is shipped with Parallels Desktop 5 and includes a 365 day complimentary subscription.

Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2011 is Windows Anti-virus shipped with Parallels Desktop 6. It includes a 90 day complimentary subscription.

If you upgrade Parallels Desktop 5 to Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac and you had Parallels Internet Security installed, it will remain activated in the new version of Parallels Desktop.

Parallels Internet Security will not be upgraded to Kaspersky Internet Security automatically. You can keep using Parallels Internet Security if you prefer using it and/or have time remaining on your subscription.

When you are ready to upgrade Parallels Internet Security 2009 to Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, make sure you complete the following steps:
1.
Uninstall Parallels Internet Security (To learn how to uninstall Parallels Internet Security, please see the following KB article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8826)
2. Install Kaspersky Internet Security by clicking on 'Virtual Machine' → '
Install Kaspersky Internet Security'

NOTE: Your Parallels Internet Security license will be replaced by Kaspersky Internet Security. You will have a complimentary 90 day subscription starting on the date that you install.   When that subscription is over, you will have the option to purchase a regular license for Kaspersky Internet Security.
