Information
Currently Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit version) was supported as guest OS in earlier builds of Parallels Desktop for Mac 4.0 on experimental basis.
The full official support is represented in the latest build of Parallels Desktop 4.0 - 3848.
It is valid for virtual machines created with virtual hard disk only. Please note that Windows 7 in Boot Camp partition is not supported by Apple and we cannot guarantee its proper operation in Boot Camp based virtual machines:

Windows 7 can be installed on Parallels Desktop virtual hard disks only, Boot Camp installations of Windows 7 are not supported by Parallels Desktop and Apple yet, see links to Apple Knowledgebase above.
Note: Earlier versions of Parallels Desktop for Mac (3.x, 2.x) do not support Windows 7 and it is not planned to be implemented.
