As Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) is available, you might need to install Parallels Desktop application on Mac OS X Snow Leopard Host.

Parallels Desktop 4:

Parallels Desktop 4.0 build 3846 fully compatible with Mac OS X Snow Leopard is available for download:

Parallels Desktop 4.0 build 3844 is compatible with Snow Leopard and can be installed on Snow Leopard Host, with some minor issues.

Snow Leopard guest may hang or kernel panic on start of installation.

Snow Leopard 64-bit host:

• 64-bit host can display message 'necessary kernel components not found'
• Host may panic on some USB devices connection into virtual machine

32-bit host is generally supported. Known issues are:

• Updater downloads application, but fails to install PD4 updates (workaround – close autoupdater and run installer manually)
• Mounter/Explorer fail to open PD4 disk images
• iPhone client fail to connect
• Reverting of snapshots could be very slow on host Snow Leopard

Older versions of Parallels Desktop software were not included in our testing efforts. These versions will not run on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6). They were designed, tested and released to the public several years before this new operating system became available. These older versions of our software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6). We recommend upgrading to the latest version of Parallels Desktop for Mac, Version 4.0.
