Symptoms

My power dns doesn't work properly - we receive the error in the /var/log/messages like:

pdns[1664]: Communicator thread died because of error: Failed to execute
mysql_query, perhaps connection died? Err=-1:

Mysql server are located remotely.

Resolution

Check your MySQL timeout, it may be set too low. This can be changed in the my.cnf file.
