RESOLUTION
For migration of x86 applications to x64 Virtuozzo Virtual servers native application-specific platform migration methods are used. By using application-native methods we ensure that no performance or reliability impact is created for applications on the destination environments.
1. MS Exchange Server 2003 can be transitioned to MS Exchnage Server 2007 x64 Virtuozzo VE by moving mailboxes between Exchange Server 2003 on physical x86 and Exchange Server 2007 on an x64 Virtuozzo VE.
2. MS SQL 2000/2005 can be migrated using detach/attach method.
3. A master domain controller can be migrated by promoting a VE to DC and moving DC master roles.
4. Other applications, including for x86, can be installed into Virtuozzo x64 VE’s to run in WoW64 emulation and their data migrated from physical x86 servers.
After data has been moved to Virtuozzo Virtual Servers, physical servers can be shut down, with virtual running instead.
