SYMPTOMS

The following error occurs then click Choose location on the module management bar:

Before publishing your site, be sure to specify the Google Maps API key generated for your web site URL

RESOLUTION

The module requires Google Maps API key appropriate to sitebuilder URL.

To generate the key Go to Admin Panel -> Server -> Modules -> Area Map.

When click link Get a Google Maps API key for current Plesk Sitebuilder URL (http://SB_HOSTNAME) you are redirected to the Sign Uo for the Google Maps API page. At the bottom of the page enter http://SB_HOSTNAME and click Generate API key.
The key  generated should be inserted into the Google Maps API key field on page Area Map page in Sitebuilder admin.

Additional information

In case the Google Maps API key is already installed but you see a popup window with a error message when click Choose location, you should generate and install the key anew, it is invalid.
