1. Topic:

Updated packages for Virtuozzo 3.0 providing user-level tools fixes for
the package management functionality.

2. Problem description:

- Virtuozzo 3.0 does not detect when Virtual Environments using the Upstart
init daemon reach the default runlevel.

- The installation of some packages that require one or more network interfaces
to be configured before their installation may fail during the OS template
caching.

- The 'vzpkg clean' command fails on the Hardware Nodes having the Plesk
for Ubuntu application template installed.

- The VE upgrade to a new EZ OS template version fails with the following
error: 'ERROR: call_vps_script'.

- After the VE migration or restoration, Virtuozzo tries to fetch the
packages already updated inside this VE.

All Virtuozzo 3.0 users are advised to update their tools packages.

3. Affected components description:

- vzctl is the primary tool for Virtual Environment management. This tool is
used to create new VEs, start and stop them, configure their parameters,
etc.

- vztt is a set of tools used to manage EZ templates. EZ templates introduced
in Virtuozzo 3.0 for the first time are more flexible and easy to manage
as compared to standard templates.

4. Bug fixes:

#91575 - Post-upgrade script in EZ templates does not work in Virtuozzo 3.0.

#112413 - Caching ubuntu-7.04 fails on Virtuozzo 3.0 Nodes due to the absence
of the 'lo' interface inside a temporary VE.

#98329 - The 'vzpkg clean ubuntu-6.10-x86' command fails for Nodes with Plesk
installed.

#112425 - VEs based on fedora-core-9 hang after running the vzctl start
command with --wait

#114484 - [support] After creation, VE has several versions of packages in
/vz/private/VE_ID/templates/vzpackages

5. Obtaining:

This update can be downloaded via ftp from downloads.swsoft.com.

You can also download and install this tools update using the
vzup2date utility included in the Virtuozzo 3.0 distribution.

6. Installation:

First, use the "rpm -Fhv" command to install the new Virtuozzo tools
packages.

# rpm -Fhv virtuozzo-release-3.0.0-165.swsoft.noarch.rpm \
vzctl-3.0.1-49.swsoft.i386.rpm \
vztt-3.0.0-72.swsoft.i386.rpm \
vztt-build-3.0.0-72.swsoft.i386.rpm

The update does not require Virtuozzo restart or system reboot.
