I want to install a new OS from scratch. How can I remove the existing virtual machine? Do I need to reinstall Parallels Desktop for Mac?

APPLIES TO:
  • Parallels Desktop 3 for Mac
  • Parallels Desktop 2.x for Mac

Resolution

  • There is no need to reinstall Parallels Desktop for Mac. You can remove a virtual machine by means of the "Delete" wizard available via File menu
  • Also you can completely remove manually any existing virtual machine by deleting its files. By default, they are stored at Mac HD - Users - <your user account folder> - Documents - Parallels folder. Then install any Guest OS in a new virtual machine.
