I cannot connect and use more than two USB devices simultaneously. An error message says that all USB ports are in use.

Symptoms

The following message appears:

"Cannot connect a USB device. All usb ports are currently being used".

Cause

Parallels supports 8 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 1.1 devices at a moment. One of the USB devices might be of USB 1.1 version.

Resolution


  • In order to connect a USB 1.1 device, disconnect a USB 1.1 device to release one of the USB 1.1 ports.

  • In order to connect a USB 2.0 device, disconnect a USB 2.0 device to release one of the USB 2.0 ports.
