Character sequence is rejected in Java GUI

SYMPTOMS

RESOLUTION


Due to the way the GUI infrastructure is written, values containing the pipe character (|) are rejected. This is processed prior to the actual validation done on the value (in this case is valid password).


Another character sequence that is always rejected is '###' (three consecutive pound signs).


currently, there is no work around for this.
